Launch Sites

HQ is based at Cargreen in Cornwall right on the River Tamar. Please note that we launch from various sites along the River (subject to weather & tidal conditions). You will always be informed of where we launch prior to your session. If a date is not listed for an activity you wish to do, please drop us a message and we will do our best to see what we can do. Please note with all bookings, the balance is required before the activity commences.

Customers will be entitled to a full refund anytime an instructor cancels a booking.

  • Full refund if the booking is under or equal to £200 and cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the activity start time.

  • Full refund if the booking is over £200 and cancelled at least a full 72 hours prior to the activity start time.

  • If the conditions on the day aren’t ideal but the activity is still taking place, refunds and rescheduling will only be provided under special circumstances.

If, after a booking has been confirmed, you reduce your numbers the payment will be forfeited for any cancelled members. If you want to change your booking, add participants or change location please notify us as soon as possible giving full reasons why. MAI Adventures will at its discretion try and accommodate any request to change a date or venue, please note any change will be subject to an administrative fee.

Paddleboarding venue

MAI Adventures will monitor the weather forecast closely and the paddleboarding venue and launch site will be confirmed with you one day prior to your activity.

Weather and tides

Unfortunately we cannot control the weather or tide, therefore in the event that the weather or tide is unsuitable, cancellation of the session may occur and an alternative date will be booked or a credit note will be issued. We try to endeavour to carry out all our SUP sessions but minimum numbers, instructor availability and weather conditions can affect the activity. If it is very windy or thunder and lightning we will have to reschedule your session with us. You will always be contacted as soon as possible to discuss the options with you.

Session Timings

Everyday is different on the River Tamar so sessions run at different times of the day and are tide and weather dependent (normally we run 2 hours before and 2 hours after slack tide.). If you are more than 15 minutes late arriving for a group booking, we will start the activity so it does not affect others in the group and you will not be refunded.
